Nice frames, slightly long wait

I bought some refurbished designer glasses, specifically some round vintage frames with tinted prescription lenses. The frames themselves are really unique and feel well-made for being upcycled. The prescription seems accurate and the tint is just right for sunny days. My only minor complaint was the glazing time. It took about 3 weeks from ordering until I received them, which felt a bit long. The customer service was responsive when I inquired about the delay, though. Overall, a good experience for unique, sustainable eyewear, but if you're in a hurry, plan ahead.

Reliable for retro glasses

This was my third order from Retrospecced, and they're consistently good. I got a pair of tortoiseshell spectacles this time, and like my previous two pairs, the quality of the refurbished frames is great, and the new prescription lenses are always perfect. I keep coming back because I know what to expect, and they deliver. The last pair, some aviator sunglasses, lasted me ages. Shipping to London usually takes about 5-7 days, which is pretty standard. They've never messed up an order for me.

Cool vintage frames, easy process

I grabbed some 1970s vintage frames with single vision lenses from them last month. It was pretty easy to pick out what I wanted on their site, and the home trial service was super handy. Got to try a few pairs before committing. The glasses came in about two weeks, which was fine, and they fit great. Definitely happy with how it all turned out, felt good getting something sustainable too.

Hey, thinking about grabbing a pair of those vintage sunnies. I'm in NYC, any idea how long shipping usually takes to the US?

R Richard 4 days ago
Oh, pretty sure they're UK-based so it's international shipping for you. They do ship outside the UK though, you'd probably need to check their site for estimated delivery times for the US.

Yeah, I ordered some frames to California once. Took about 2 weeks I think, maybe a bit more. Customs can slow things down sometimes.

Thinking of getting a pair of reading glasses, but I already have my prescription. Can I just send them my prescription and they'll put the lenses in?

K Karen L. 4 days ago
Yep, you absolutely can. I did that with my last pair of specs from them, just uploaded my prescription after choosing the frames.

That's exactly what they do! You just provide your prescription when you order, and they glaze them for you.

I'm interested in the home trial service. How does that work, do they send you a bunch of frames to try on before you buy?

A Ashley Lee 1 month ago
Yeah, you pick a few frames you like online and they send them to you to try on at home for a few days. Then you send them back.

It's pretty straightforward. You just select the frames you want to try, they send them, you test them out, and then return them. You only pay for what you keep, if anything.

Okay, so I bought some frames from Ace & Tate before, but I like the idea of upcycled stuff. How do Retrospecced frames compare quality-wise to, say, Ace & Tate?

R Richard Flores 1 month ago
I've had both! Retrospecced frames feel a bit more unique because they're vintage, and the quality is usually solid if they've been properly refurbished. Ace & Tate is good but more mass-produced feel.

Totally different vibe. Retrospecced are actual vintage, so you get more character. Quality wise, it really depends on the individual frame for Retrospecced since they're old, but they do a good job refurbishing them. Ace & Tate are fine, but everyone has them.

Are these frames actually real designer stuff, or are they like, good fakes? Some of the prices seem almost too good for true vintage designer.

A Adam Sanchez 3 weeks ago
Nah, they're legit. They just refurbish old ones. My Gucci frames from them were definitely authentic.

Pretty sure they say on their site they source genuine vintage and designer frames. They're not making replicas or anything.
